ON A MISSION
The Meyer Foundation for Disabilities is dedicated to enhancing the lives of the thousands of adults with disabilities in the Omaha metro area by offering them recreational, social and life skills programs. Cooking classes, dance and swim lessons, group outings and reading clubs are among the many activities we help to provide.
Besides offering fun, the programs are therapeutic, improving physical and cognitive, capabilities. They promote inclusion for people with disabilities, who often become isolated when they age out of the school system. And they provide hours of much-needed respite, or a break, for families and caregivers.
We support specialized programming offered by the professional staff of the University of Nebraska Medical Center's renowned Munroe-Meyer Institute. In addition, we partner with other organizations who share our interest and passion for improving the lives of adults with disabilities in our community.
